The pilot teachers’ training delivered by the Hellenic Open University has now been completed, marking a significant step in preparing the material within the DRONE ERASMUS+ project “Teacher and school leaders training to promote Digital Literacy and combat the spread of disinformation among vulnerable groups of adolescents”.
The pilot phase progressed smoothly and produced encouraging results.
Ninety teachers from seventeen schools across Greece took part in four lively three-hour sessions held on 15, 16, 17, and 18 October. Each meeting offered a hands-on introduction to the DRONE material and gave participants space to work together, test ideas, and reflect on real classroom needs. The sessions opened up rich discussions on:
- Information and media literacy,
- Resilience,
- Cybersecurity, and
- When Things Go Wrong
Throughout the training, teachers explored the DRONE material in depth and collaborated in groups to examine its practical use in their school environments. The atmosphere of exchange and experimentation shaped a productive pilot setting, allowing participants to consider how the material translates into authentic classroom situations.
The overall evaluation was notably positive. Teachers described the content as “Very well written and useful”, “Rich material”, and “Effective and practical”.
The project now moves to the classroom implementation phase. Teachers will apply the material with their students, and more than six hundred pupils are expected to complete pre- and post-questionnaires. These responses will support the assessment of the material’s educational impact and usefulness.
Further updates will follow as the implementation phase advances and results become available.
